Peer Support Specialists Working Group
Act 88 (Senate Bill 3094) was signed into law by Governor Josh Green, M.D., in June 2024 and established the Peer Support Specialist Working Group within the Office of Wellness and Resilience. The working group will develop and make recommendations for a framework for peer support specialists in the state. Working group members consist of several state departments, community partners, and peers support specialists. In addition to looking at best practices to certifying and credentialing peers, the framework will look at trauma-informed supervision and sustainable funding to support the work of peer support specialists.
The working group’s first meeting was held in September 2024 and it will continue to meet monthly through June 2025; tentative dates are below. All meetings are open to the public and are subject to Sunshine Law. For more information, or to be added to the working group’s mailing list, please email [email protected].
